The reality star confirmed the rumors about their latest bundle of joy on Monday's episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
"Are you working on another child?" Cohen asked. Kardashian West, who was a guest on the show along with her sisters Khloe Kardashian and Kourtney Kardashian, quickly responded, "We are."
She went on to reveal that the due date is "sometime soon," which aligns with recent reports that claimed the baby was due in the spring. The mom of three also confirmed that big siblings North, Saint and Chicago will have a new baby brother.
“It’s a boy, I think it’s been out there,” Kardashian West said. “I got drunk at our Christmas Eve party and told some people. I can’t remember who I told because I never get drunk.”
Original reports said the couple hoped to use the same surrogate they used for their youngest daughter Chicago, but People reports that the pair are using a new carrier. "Since they had another embryo, Kim and Kanye always knew they wanted to try and implant that embryo too,” the source said. “They hoped to work with the same gestational carrier, but it didn’t work out this time. They are working with a second carrier now that is pregnant and will give birth in the spring."
We know for sure that at least one member of the family is happy about having another boy int the mix. According to People, during an interview on Ashley Graham‘s podcast Pretty Big Deal, Kardashian West talked about how her first-born North wants another brother. "She said to me the other day, ‘Mom … we just need to have another baby brother so that Saint can just leave me alone … so the girls can be on this side of the house and the boys can be on that side of the house.'"
News of the pregnancy first broke just a couple weeks shy of Chicago’s first birthday, and after speculation that the Wests “don’t seem to be in a huge rush,” to have another baby.
Kardashian West hinted at the idea of adding to their family back in August. "But I’ve been really open about it and talked about it on our show, so I don’t know,” she reportedly told E!News. “We start filming season 16 next week, so if I think about it more and it’s gonna happen, you’ll definitely see it on the show. But as of now, no.”
It sounds like fans will get a chance to see baby number four’s surrogacy process on an upcoming season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. In similar fashion, Kardashian West shared parts of her journey with Chicago on the show as well. (They officially revealed the baby news in a season 14 trailer for Keeping Up With the Kardashians.)
Although Kardashian West was able to carry her first two children North, five, and Saint, three, the pregnancies had some complications. The soon-to-be mom of four suffered from placenta accreta, a life-threatening condition in which the placenta fails to properly detach from the uterus during birth, during both her pregnancies. To avoid this happening again, the couple enlisted the help of a surrogate to have baby number three, and now, baby number four.
Congratulations, you two!
