It looks like the Big Apple isn't the only U.S. city Meghan Markle has been making secret trips to! She and Prince Harry have reportedly been visiting the duchess's mom, Doria Ragland, in Los Angeles.
According to one of Ragland's neighbors, who spoke to British newspaper The Sun, Markle has been to California several times since going public with Prince Harry, and he has joined her for a trip at least once. “They are forever in touch, and Meghan has been here to stay on more than one occasion since going public with Harry," the neighbor revealed of Markle's relationship with her mom. “I even saw him here once, but it’s not my place to say any more.” While it's not quite clear when this particular couple's vacation took place, The Sun speculates that it was likely on the tail end of their Australian tour, as this would have been a cost effective stopover on their return flight back to the U.K.
Markle and her mom are undeniably close—the matriarch was heavily involved in the royal wedding, and was rumored to be the one walking her daughter down the aisle after her father dropped out—and she has made multiple trips to the U.K. to visit her royal daughter and son-in-law. “Meghan is a mommy’s girl — their special mother-daughter bond hasn’t disappeared just because she’s moved to England," the neighbor told The Sun. “Meghan will always come back to Doria; this will always be her home."
However, Los Angeles may not be home for Doria Ragland for much longer. Last year, reports surfaced that she was considering moving to England to be closer to Meghan and Prince Harry, and with a royal baby on the way, the soon-to-be grandmother may have even more motivation to make the move across the pond.
